BFC Fencers are Well Represented at Local Capitol Clash

BFC Fencers are Well Represented at Local Capitol Clash

 

           Baltimore Fencing Center was represented by twenty-one athletes in nine different events this past weekend during the Capitol Clash Super Youth Circuit that was held in Oxon Hill, Maryland.  Fencers finishing atop the podium were Sophia Mandour and Karina Wang.  These two young ladies tied for the bronze in the Y14 Women’s Foil event.  Karina also placed 3rd in the Cadet Women’s Foil event and Sophia earned the silver.  Top16 finishers include:

 

          Sophia Mandour -             3rd in Y14 Women’s Foil, 2nd in Cadet Women’s Foil

          Karina Wang -                   3rd in Y14 Women’s Foil, 3rd in Cadet Women’s Foil

          Kelly Chen –                    12th in Y10 Women’s Foil

          Kiesse Nanor –                14th in Y10 Women’s Foil

          Yixuan Pei -                      14th in Cadet Men’s Epee

          Zoe Barnette -                  14th in Cadet Women’s Foil

 

 

           Congratulations to all of the BFC fencers who participated in such a strong event!  Many of the BFC fencers who participated in this past weekend’s Capitol Clash will be heading to Richmond, VA this coming weekend (February 13th – February 16th) for the Junior Olympics.  Fencers who will be representing BFC in Richmond are: Max Bachvaroff, Zoe Barnette, Daniel Budai, Seth Daily, Amy Green, Miles Johnson, Ryan Liiva, Sophia Mandour, Yixuan Pei, Duncan Rheingans-Yoo, Celine Shanosky, Jiayang Shi, Shenzhi Shi, Karina Wang, and Kevin Wang.  We wish all of our fencers the best of luck this weekend and hope to have others travel to Richmond to cheer on their club mates.
